Hi, I’m Geoff.
I help people get their technology working, and understand it well enough to keep it that way.
I started EasyMac411 in 2011 to do one thing: make technology work for the people who use it. Since then I’ve helped families, small offices and schools across the San Gabriel Valley with Macs, Windows PCs, iPhones, iPads, networks and everything that connects to them.
How I got here
Before computers were my business, they were my tools. I spent the late 1990s and 2000s as a recording engineer at Sunset Sound and NRG Recording Studios in Los Angeles, then producing and mixing records of my own. A recording studio is one of the most demanding computer environments there is. When a session is running and the system goes down, there’s no “call back tomorrow.” You learn to find the problem fast, fix it right, and keep everyone calm while you do.
That’s still how I work.
Schools
From 2015 to 2018 I served as Director of Information Technology for St. Lucy’s Priory High School in Glendora. I designed and launched the school’s Apple 1:1 iPad program, managed hundreds of devices in Jamf, and built a campus wireless network that took Wi-Fi coverage from 15% to 100%. More about my school work.
How I work
- Patient. No question is too basic. You will never feel rushed or talked down to.
- Plain English. I explain what I’m doing and why, without the jargon.
- Straight answers. If you don’t need to buy something, I’ll tell you.
- You deal with me. The person you call is the person who shows up.
When I’m not fixing computers, I’m with my family, reading, or learning something new. I’m a lifelong learner, and I love passing on what I know. That’s why I write the guides in the How-To Library.
